The Meditative Lens
My work Flourish was featured in the Artdoc edition The Meditative Lens — a selection of photographic approaches that emerge from a mindful, in-depth engagement with nature and surroundings.
In a time when we are surrounded by fleeting images, constant movement, and visual overload, this edition focuses on photographs that allow for tranquility. Images that do not assert themselves loudly, but invite us to pause. The meditative quality of these works lies not in withdrawal, but in conscious attention: in precise observation, in perceiving light, form, atmosphere, and silence.
For me, photography has always been connected to craftsmanship, observation, and a deep interest in the world. In recent years, my focus has shifted increasingly towards nature. This has resulted in a visual language that I understand as a portrait of nature.
For me, nature is not merely a motif or backdrop. It is our foundation, our habitat, our connection to something larger than ourselves. My images attempt to make this silent presence visible — not spectacularly, but attentively, reduced, and alive.
I believe that we only protect what we love. And that we can only love what we truly perceive.
Flourish invites us to look more slowly, to be moved, and to develop a new appreciation for the natural world — as a source of calm, beauty, and connection.
